Catherine Hakim has had a lot of publicity this week for her new book about internet dating. She is a sociologist who believes that it is time to redraw marital rules with a significant change in attitude towards fidelity. This sort of book fills me with sadness because perhaps she is right. When I signed up to marriage I was expecting to get all that from my partner, not from someone outside the marriage. Is that so unreasonable?
